Are you an accountant currently working in practice and looking for a fresh opportunity in a friendly, supportive firm?

We’re looking for an experienced Practice Accountant to join our small but mighty team based in the village of Scotlandwell, just outside Kinross. This is a varied, hands‑on role with real client interaction and the chance to play a key part in a growing, modern firm with traditional values.

The Role

This is a genuine general practice role, offering variety and responsibility. Your duties will include:

• Processing client transactions and reconciling bank accounts

• Preparing and submitting VAT returns

• Supporting clients with bookkeeping queries

• Preparing tax returns and year‑end accounts for:

  • Sole traders

  • Partnerships

  • Limited companies

• Working closely with clients and providing a high level of personal service

As a busy office, no two days are the same, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves and help out wherever needed.

The role can be part‑time or full‑time, with a minimum commitment of three days per week.
Salary is dependent on experience.

About You

You’re approachable, capable, and enjoy dealing directly with clients. You’ll ideally bring:

• CA, ACCA or AAT qualification — or be part‑qualified or qualified by experience

• At least 3 years’ recent experience in a general practice role

  • (We’re also open to candidates now working in industry who have prior practice experience)

• Confidence using bookkeeping software such as Xero and QuickBooks

• Strong experience with accounting and tax software

Good working knowledge of:

• UK tax rules affecting owner‑managed businesses

• FRS 105 and FRS 102

You’ll have a strong work ethic, a positive “can‑do” attitude, and pride in delivering a high‑quality service while being mindful of cost efficiency. You’ll be comfortable working independently, while also being a reliable team player.
